The preservation of data is the responsibility of the customer, and Just Bytes takes no responsibility for data lost during service. Any work not covered by a Just Bytes warranty will incur standard service charges. In order to claim any service under warranty, the customer's original invoice MUST be presented. Any disputes over workmanship MUSTbe brought to the attention of Just Bytes within 48 hours of collection or delivery. We are unable to guarantee specific functionality of any repaired computer unless specified otherwise, or where specific functionality is not presented at the time of drop-off.

Labour Warranty
All service labour is covered for 30 days from invoice/collection date. Where the original problem is not resolved or recurs, it shal be resolved without additional cost. Where the problem is greater than initially evaulated, the difference between what has been paid, and the total repair cost, will be payable. Any additional problems not covered by warranty will incur standard charges.

Spare/Replacement Parts
All spare & replacement parts will be covered for a period of 90 days from invoice date. These parts may also have an additional extended warranty available directly through the manufacturer.

The following will not be covered under any Just Bytes warranty:

  • Software - Including but not limited to: Operating System, applications, configurations, viruses, malware, etc.
  • Compatibility and interoperability with any equipment or software not provided by Just Bytes with the new PC.
  • Defects or degeneration arising as a result of normal use, wear and tear.
  • Fans, or damage caused by the failure of any fan.
  • Dust, heat & issues caused by these (except where these issues are caused by a hardware malfunction - excluding fans).
  • Damage caused by natural elements and/or weather anomalies - such as rust/corrosion, earthquakes, floods, fire, etc.
  • Damage caused by the customer, including but not limited to custom modifications to the system.
  • Damage and faults caused by Lightning Strikes and/or Power Surges. Just Bytes requires the use of Surge Protectors to prevent these faults - should your computer not be protected by a quality surge protector (such as the Belkin SurgeMaster range) we reserve the right to void your warranty should these faults occur.

The cover provided by this warranty shall cease to apply in the event that any repairs or maintenance are carried out on the system by any persons not authorised by Just Bytes. Your warranty does permit the end user to open the chassis; however the exclusions listed above do apply.

Full warranty applies to original purchaser only and is not transferrable. Should the system be sold/given away, the new owner is entitled to our Limited Warranty as described below.

Systems purchased before 1st July 2010 MUST be presented with the original invoice for warranty repairs. Systems purchased on or after 1st July 2010 must display a valid "PC ID" tag on the case and/or be presented with the original invoice.

Where replacement parts are no longer available (e.g. when sockets are replaced) outside the first 12-months of the warranty period, Just Bytes reserves the right to require the customer to pay any difference for any other components that require replacement as a result (e.g. if a motherboard must be replaced, this may cause other components to require replacement as well - while Just Bytes will bear the cost of the Motherboard, the customer may be requried to pay for any other components that subsequently require replacement).

Overclocking & Modifications

The end-user may overclock or make modifications to U-Series and X-Series PC's in any way they see fit; however the standard exclusions listed above do apply to any damage as a result. Just Bytes also reserves the right to refuse technical support to any modified system.

New PC Limited Warranty

The Just Bytes Limited Warranty applies if:

  • The system is repaired by anyone outside of Just Bytes, including any other repairer, or;
  • The system is transferred from the original owner (as stated on the tax invoice)

Standard exclusions also apply as outlined in the full warranty terms above. Limited warranty customers will not receive priority service, and no free technical support will be provided.

The Limited Warranty does not apply to systems purchased by a reseller, for the purpose of reselling the system, where authorised by Just Bytes prior to purchase.

Free technical support is provided with all new Just Bytes computers. This is available via telephone (1300 790 840 or 02 4927 6528 from mobiles), our website (justbytes.com.au) or email (support@justbytes.net.au). Just Bytes will endeavour to resolve any issues brought to our attention via the support methods listed above, however no guarantee or warranty is provided for any support given.

Just Bytes may not provide technical support for the following, at the discretion of the technician:

General Sales Warranty (Over-The-Counter)

Items sold over-the-counter (or via the Online Store) are covered by a 12-month warranty through Just Bytes, and any relevant Manufacturers warranty thereafter. Just Bytes may replace faulty goods on-the-spot at Just Bytes' discretion. Where replacement items are not available, or at Just Bytes' discretion, faulty hardware must be returned to the manufacturer/supplier and a replacement part returned to Just Bytes (or direct to the customer where available). Just Bytes is not liable for any loss of income, data, etc as a result of delays caused by warranty replacements. Where a replacement is not available (due to End-Of-Life, etc) a suitable alternative arrangement will be decided upon by Just Bytes.

Returns will not be accepted for change of mind or incompatibility. All parts should be confirmed compatible with existing hardware before purchasing.

Proof of purchase MUST be provided for any return - NO EXCEPTIONS.

However if that remedy fails of its essential purpose, Just Bytes reserves the right to refund the purchase price of the product to the purchaser in exchange for the return of the product. Just Bytes shall not be liable for any damages including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of use or data, loss of profits or interruption of business, whether such alleged damages are based in warranty, tort (including negligence and strict liability, but excluding personal injury), contract, or indemnity. Except to the extent prohibited by law, this is the exclusive written limited warranty of the original purchaser.

Just Bytes reserves the right to modify these warranty statements at any time without notice. New/updated warranty statements will become effective immediately, and applicable to all new and existing warranties to the extent permissable by law.
